‘FYI’ ...For Your Information ...For Your Inspiration ...your TotaLibra Newsletter

ALA Midwinter, Seattle
ALA Midwinter was an excellent forum to display a selection of products from the TotaLibra range. Showcasing popular favorites, such as Concertina, with our new innovative furniture designs - e-sense and MicroSlat - demonstrated how TotaLibra leads the field in contemporary library furniture. Attendees from all over the U.S., who were looking for something different, were blown away by what we had to offer. We, in turn, were very excited at the number of new projects that are coming along!

During the weekend, TotaLibra hosted two groups of key library architects, designers, and librarians for dinner, which allowed time for stimulating one-on-one interaction with this influential group of professionals.

Project Updates

St. Louis Public LibrarySt. Louis Public Library, MO

"Classic" and "Modern" blend perfectly in this stunning library installation.  Originally the Old Post Office, the newly renovated Central Express “drop in” library demonstrates how contemporary-style furniture can greatly enhance the interior of a 100 year-old building.

Using Opal shelving, with all face-out display, TotaLibra worked with Architects Team 4, on this “concept library” which offers patrons an express library service, for a popular collection, in this busy commercial downtown area. The project combined a variety of end panel styles, as well as, stationary and mobile units to create added interest.

Washington D.C.
Paula Altman of Library Interiors Inc., NJ has worked on several temporary branch libraries in Washington D.C., using the LibraStack range of shelving. The bid was won, not only on price, but also on our ability to deliver LibraStack within a very short time span - the first shipment arrived only 4 weeks after receiving the official order! Work is continuing on the installation of these branch libraries, and it is anticipated that this will pave the way for us to be involved in the permanent branches as they are planned.

Mezitta

Realizing that wire management can make or break the look of a library, we have been working closely with Byrne Electrical, and have now developed a solution for cable management for the popular Mezitta workstations. Details will be forwarded shortly.

Employee Spotlight-Cory Turben

This month our employee spotlight is on Cory Turben, our Dealer Support/Estimator. After attending school in La Crosse, WI, Cory continued to live in La Crosse for seven more years. During that time, he worked in a customer service role, for a mail order company called The Company Store, that sold bedding and home interior products. A job opportunity as a Customer Service Supervisor at Certegy, Inc. prompted a move to Madison, WI in 2005. Cory brings all this great experience to his role with TotaLibra.

Since joining the TotaLibra team in July 2006, Cory is determined to develop exceptional business partnerships with our customers and is committed to offering the very best in customer support and service. Working closely with Sarah Hagen, Cory’s aim is to ensure that he keeps our clients more than happy with the Totalibra experience!

A true Wisconsin sports fan, Cory supports the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. Cory also has a more than average fascination with numbers and math! His other interests include golf, reading, grilling out and working with computers.
